Arguably, Bittersteel was a more central character in the Blackfyre Rebellions than any of the Blackfyres. He was crucial during the first one. The fact that he didn't participate in the second one was one of the reasons it failed so spectacularly. The third and fourth ones would probably never have gotten off the ground without him. And while he was dead during the fifth it involved the Golden Company, the mercenary army he had built, in a crucial role. His loyalty to his half-brother and his family is commendable, and his hatred of his other half-brother is truly terrifying. A massively facinating character. A real force of nature in human form. And a legendary warrior. And a cunning general. I really hope we'll see more of him in future books.
